Valdosta teachers, students getting iPads

VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) — The Valdosta City School district has started distributing iPads to students and teachers.

WALB-TV ( ) reports two dozen teachers began training this week on the Apple tablet computers. They received the computers after entering an essay contest.

The Valdosta City Schools will provide the students of every winning teacher with the device, around 500 iPads over the next month.

The technology was funded by an educational grant program.
