Other participants at this event that achieved solid results include Myles Hudson (8th grade), Gareth Thompson (6th grade), Zach Smith (11th grade) and Caleigh Hatcher (8th grade). Caleigh Hatcher, a student at Dodgen Middle School in east Cobb, achieved distinction in the third level International Piano Exams through the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. This distinction enables her to perform in the XVIth Georgia High Scorers’ Concert to be held in late January. The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, founded in 1889, is the leading international examining board.
Upcoming events for these young pianists include Piano Guild of America auditions, Royal Schools exams, Spring Recital and Music Showcase. Several students of Dr. Adriana van Rensburg were recognized at the recent Winter Recital and received medals and trophies for outstanding public performance, participation, and overall best progress. To contact van Rensburg call (770) 312-0260 or email adri_jvr@bellsouth.net.
