This message was sent from Wheeler High Principal Dr. David Chiprany in response to two guns found on the school's campus on Friday.
Dear Wheeler Family,
In my efforts to keep you informed, I wanted to share with you information regarding a situation that occurred at our school today. As a result of a student tip, our school administrators and school resource officers were able to confiscate two unloaded guns from two students without incident. The students were subsequently placed in police custody. According to school district policy, any student who brings a weapon of this nature to school will be expelled.
I want to commend the student who brought this situation to our attention. Students are a critical part of our ability to maintain a safe school campus. Please encourage your child to report any activity that they see or hear that they feel is a threat to their safety. This is an example of how our collaborative efforts can help ensure a safe and secure school campus.
On behalf of our staff, I want to thank you for your continued support of Wheeler High School. Please feel free to contact me any time with questions.
Dr. David Chiprany
Principal
