In simple terms, the First Amendment says: “We Are Free.” The Second Amendment says: “We Are Going to Stay That Way.” The Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting. It’s protection from bad people, animals and government.
AR and AK rifles are just like any other semi-auto rifle or shotgun. One pull of the trigger fires only one bullet. They are just dressed differently. A Honda, new hybrid, SUV or a Corvette each serve the same basic purpose. They are just dressed differently. Because you prefer a hybrid or Corvette and don’t care for the other, do you ban it?
In the case of hunting and farm preservation a new menace is spreading: the feral hog, which breeds at an alarming rate and destroys crops and some other farm animals. A bolt action rifle only runs them back into the woods to breed more. An AR-15 with a large capacity magazine gives you a chance to get a few more before they hide again. Additionally, the meat is usually donated to charities to feed indigent and homeless people.
