MARIETTA — Marietta attorney and former law enforcement officer Lance LoRusso has published a book, “When Cops Kill: The Aftermath of a Critical Incident” for the law enforcement community. The profits from the book’s sales will benefit law enforcement charities.

Chemist to head PR panel

COBB — Cobb County resident and Georgia Tech chemist David Gottfried has been selected to head the National Committee on Public Relations in 2013 for The American Chemical Society. Gottfried is a member of the ACS National Governing Council and was elected a Fellow of ACS in 2012. He is senior research scientist in the Georgia Tech Institute for Electronics & Nanotechnology.

- Granite Digital Imaging has opened a 12,500-square-foot film and television production studio at 913 Cobb Parkway North in Marietta. In addition to film production, the company holds an eight-week film school twice a year.

- WellStar Health System is one of 54 companies nationwide to receive the 2013 Alliance for Work-Life Progress Work-Life Seal of Distinction. Award recipients will be honored Feb. 28 at a gala at in Baltimore, Md.

- Meenu Narang opened her second Goddard School preschool location at 3401 Ernest Barrett Parkway in Marietta on Jan. 2.

- Westbury Carpet One Floor & Home is offering a new digital magazine to its customers entitled “Beautiful Design.” The magazine is free and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store.
