On Dec. 31 revelers gathered to ring in the New Year at the Marietta home of Lee Alison and Greg Rable. Beth and David McGee, Melanie and Jim Lauder, and Alli and Rob Schnatmeier also hosted the fete. High Fidelity seen performing most weekends at Front Page News in Atlanta entertained the 60 or so couples who filled the heated tent set up in the driveway — complete with a mirror ball. Guests arrived around 8 p.m., toasted the New Year and danced and sang with the band until 1 a.m.

Sarah and John Bullington, Phyllis and Jerry Collins, Jennifer Brett and Charlie Gay, Erica and Mike Graus, Tara Guest, Katherine and David Mayfield, and Kristi and Sam Storey were there just to name a few.

The Cathedral Antiques Show is Atlanta’s oldest and most prestigious antiques show. A major outreach project sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women of the Cathedral of St. Philip, the show celebrates the best of local and regional talent. The show will showcase 24 interior designers from 18 design firms selected to transform the historic Lanier House on the grounds of The Cathedral of St. Philip into its 2013 Inspiration House. This year’s Inspiration House is sponsored by US Trust and is chaired by Rick Anthony Bonner and Cindra Brown. The Inspiration House will be open for tours Jan. 27-Feb. 10.

Located at 2801 Andrews Drive, Lanier House (built around 1910) was originally the home of the Andrews family, after whom Andrews Drive is named. The home was enlarged by Ivey & Crook in 1928-29 after the Dunn family purchased the property and it features 22 unique spaces ranging from an intimate apartment suite to spacious, light-filled drawing rooms. The designers will blend traditional and contemporary design throughout the Tudor-style home, creating spaces that will range from elegant to whimsical, and from grand to cozy.

Tickets to the Cathedral Antiques Show, which include a tour of Inspiration House, can be purchased online (www.cathedralantiques.org), at The Cathedral Bookstore, or at Boxwoods in Atlanta. All proceeds benefit Refugee Family Services, a nonprofit organization supporting the efforts of refugee women and children to achieve self-sufficiency in the United States. In addition to the exhibits and Inspiration House, the Show includes lectures on antiques and design, afternoon lunch and tea, and a tour of some of the area’s most gracious private homes on Jan. 20.
