Project Overcoat is seeking to collect thousands of new and gently used coats and blankets for disadvantaged men, women and children across metro Atlanta. More than 130 community agencies will distribute the items in hopes of keeping residents warm during the winter months.

Those looking to donate can drop off items at any Kroger store in the greater Atlanta area through Jan. 19. Volunteers are also needed to help sort coats at Atlanta Mission, 2355 Bolton Road NW in Atlanta on Jan. 23 to 25 and Jan. 28 to Feb. 1. To volunteer, visit unitedway atlanta.org/projectovercoat.
