According to Officer Michael Smith with Smyrna Police, the department is investigating the shooting death of 48-year-old Kenneth Anderson of Smyrna.
“At approximately 10:18 p.m., police received a report of a man being shot at 2145 Kennesaw Way,” Smith said. “Upon arrival of police, the victim and resident … was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.”
Smith could not say how many shots were fired or what type of gun was used in the shooting. An autopsy was being conducted on Anderson’s body.
Smith was also unable to say who called in the shooting or if anyone else was present at the home.
“The shooting does not appear to be random, as it appears to be drug-related,” he said. “The community shouldn’t be in any danger.”
However, the suspect or suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
Additionally, police have not released a description of the shooter but are “actively” working the case and hope to release it later.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call (678) 631-5179.
