Police are searching for a suspect in a Friday evening armed robbery at the Auto Zone store at 1346 Veterans Memorial Highway in Austell.

Just after 9 p.m., police said a man entered the auto parts store armed with a shotgun. As he approached employees, police said the suspect began demanding they give him the money in the cash register. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, police said the suspect fled the area in what was described as a newer model four-door sedan.

The suspect is described as being black, 6 feet tall and weighing between 180 and 210 pounds. Police said he has a “light complexion” and was last seen wearing a black hoodie and sunglasse
