The house was decorated and half the guests were already there, having served as docents during the final shift of the Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour. Sooooo… why not throw a party? Jennifer Brett and Charles Gay popped the corks as the last tour guests exited the house.
Although Jennifer does not profess to be a cook she does serve quality “hootch.” She offered up peppermint bark, cheese straws and other delicacies from the Publix bakery and emptied several bottles of good champagne. Mary Koronkowski, looking especially fetching in a Christmas sweater, showed up with her husband Allen’s famous “Mr. K’s Cookies” that were a huge hit.
Guests at the first annual “Toast the Tour” party to thank docents, volunteers and tour supporters included Kelly Bachman, Hope and Andy Branicki, Kee Carlisle, Carolyn Chaffins, Lyric Resmondo and Jay Garten, Angie Green, Connie Kone, Angie Konop, Annie and Jerry Mann, Kathryn Mayfield, Kristin Moffett, Beth McGee, Katie Stieber, Kristi Storey, Lori Weaver, and Larry Zenoni.
This holiday season lovers of great a cappella choral music will have a chance to hear Sacre Voci, a local chamber choir under the direction of Ed Schneider, perform Christmas classics from around the world. The performance is set for Sunday, Dec. 9 at 4p.m. in the historic sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, 189 Church St. (off the historic Marietta Square).
