On Oct. 23, Garrett Hunter recently started her own custom paper business Cercies. Pronounced “sur-sees” and meaning a little happy gift, Cercies’ new line debuted at the Happy Holly Days Show at Lee’s Crossing Clubhouse in Marietta.
Garrett, who has always had a creative side, said her line is unique because everything she does is hand-drawn rather than produced graphically.
A Marietta native who graduated from MHS in 1995, Garrett is married to Frasure Hunter. She is the daughter of Ann and Joe Phillips. Frasure, the son of Nancy and David Hunter, is also a MHS graduate. The couple lives in Marietta with their two children. To learn, more visit www.cercies.com.
Polk Street Players is holding open, non-equity auditions for the madcap comedy “Let’s Murder Marsha” by Monk Ferris and directed by Tom Strong. Auditions are Nov. 10 (10 a.m. to noon) and Nov. 13 (7 to 9 p.m.). They are casting one woman (35 to 45), one woman (30 to 40), one woman (20ish), one woman (55 to 70), two men (40 to 55), and one man (20 to 30). Cold reading from the script.
