Cobb Police looking for suspects in east Cobb jewelry store heist

MARIETTA - Police are asking for help in identifying two suspects connected to an armed robbery that took place at an east Cobb jewelry store Thursday afternoon.

The Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit is investigating an armed robbery, which occurred at Edward Johns Jewelry in the 1200 block of Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta around 3:20 p.m.

According to investigators, a man went into the jewelry store and asked to see a specific piece of jewelry. "As the employee was pulling the jewelry out of a display case, the offender pulled out a handgun and demanded that it be given to him," the police report states. "After taking the piece of jewelry from the employee, the offender fled to a red Honda which was being driven by a female." They were last seen driving northbound on Johnson Ferry Road.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6-feet tall, having a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and a gray shirt. He was armed with a handgun.
