MARIETTA — More than 1,000 participants, including hundreds of breast cancer survivors, are signed up to participate in the American Cancer Society’s first Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk/run in Cobb County on Saturday at the Marietta Square.
Registration begins at 7 a.m., with an opening ceremony set for 7:45 a.m. The 5K run will begin at 8:15 a.m., and the 5K walk at 8:20 a.m.
Speakers at the opening ceremony will include Marietta Mayor Steve “Thunder” Tumlin and Paula Mohan, executive vice president of the American Cancer Society and operating officer for the Society’s South Atlantic Division. Performers will include Kristopher Thiab and Wesley Cook.
