The group’s first social event, Dead Man’s Costume Ball, is Oct. 27 at MCMA at 30 Atlanta St. in Marietta.
In addition to celebrating history’s most beloved artists, the evening will include a costume contest, art history trivia, palm reader, rockin’ music, photo booth station, full bar and horror d’oeuvres.
The event is hosted also by Charter, MCMA’s new young professionals group. The group will host a variety of art and cultural events throughout the year.
“We decided a Halloween party would be a great way to kick (Charter) off,” said Emily Ryals, former Director of Education who is currently a stay-at-home mom and artist. “Charter is a group of diverse young professionals, who, having a common love of art, work to organize educational, social, and philanthropic events to promote art appreciation and grow the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art community.”
The Dead Man’s Costume Ball is the group’s first social event.
“Our 100-year-old building is the perfect atmosphere to celebrate Halloween. We even have our very own ghost story. The DJ will play fun music, and there will be plenty of room to dance,” Ryals said. “MCMA is a wonderful organization which is committed to building community through art. Hosting parties such as this is one way we generate money and interest in the museum, but MCMA has so much more to offer from classes and lectures to wonderful exhibitions and more.”
