SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — A local group that has been trapping and then neutering and vaccinating feral cats in the Savannah area has quit doing so.
The Savannah Morning News reports that the Milton Project has been trapping the cats and then returning them to their colonies for the past eight years.
However, the group suspended its operations Oct. 1.
Project director Sherry Montgomery says government regulations made it hard for the group’s work to continue by hindering its ability to return the animals to their colonies.
