It’s hard to beat both Cards, umpires

DEAR EDITOR:

It’s sad that the Atlanta Braves baseball season had to end in such an ugly way. It’s hard enough to beat a good team such as the St. Louis Cardinals, but to have to beat them and six umpires who did not have the guts to reverse such a bad call is almost impossible.

If these umpires are “the best Major League Baseball has to offer,” maybe they should employ substitute umpires.

“Wait ‘til next year!”
