MARIETTA — Southbound I-75 at the South Loop was shut down during for a short time during Monday’s afternoon rush hour after a car merging onto the interstate struck a tractor-trailer. The car driver then lost control as the car spun and it was then broadsided by another car. That resulted in a chain-reaction crash involving two other cars, Marietta Police Officer David Baldwin said.
Five people were hurt in the crash, though none seriously, Baldwin said. It was raining heavily at the time of the crash.
