POWDER SPRINGS — A 75-year-old Powder Springs man was badly burned when his house caught fire Thursday morning, Cobb Fire said.
Denell Boyd with Cobb Fire said firefighters were called to a home in the 3900 block of Murray Avenue in Powder Springs at 11:37 a.m. after a neighbor across the street saw the house on fire.
Firefighters arrived five minutes later and had the blaze put out by 12:12 p.m. Boyd said a man found in the home was flown to Grady Hospital in Atlanta but didn’t know his condition. The man had burns over a “good part” of his body and may have inhaled smoke, Boyd said. His name has not been released. Fire officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
