Officer David Baldwin with Marietta Police said officers are looking for Andre Richard Hall, described as a 27-year-old black male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 185 pounds and with dreadlocks.
Descriptions also indicate Hall has a “distinctive” dark-colored birthmark on his left cheek and that he has ties to Cobb County, so officers believe he is still in the area.
Marietta Police has charged Hall with felony obstruction of an officer.
“There was an officer doing a foot patrol at the Marquis Place apartments on Franklin Road … when she encountered three subjects about their activities, one of them (Hall) came back wanted,” he said.
Baldwin said that while attempting to arrest Hall on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation in Acworth, he punched the officer numerous times in the face and head, then ran from the scene.
“The officer is OK,” he said. “She did not sustain any lasting injuries from (the attack), and she’s already returned to work.”
Baldwin said the department is not releasing the name or any other identifying information about the officer.
Anyone with information about Hall’s whereabouts is asked to call the Marietta Police Department at (770) 794-5300, or the Marietta Police Department Tip Line at (770) 794-6990.
