MARIETTA – A Marietta man was charged in what police are calling the forcible rape of a worker at the apartment complex where he lived.

Norris Leonard was charged with aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy and armed robbery for an incident that occurred around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ashford Retreat Apartments, 2121 Windy Hill Road, Marietta Police said. Police said a female contract employee was cleaning a vacant apartment when Leonard attacked her. Leonard brandished a knife and robbed the woman of cash, police said. Police said Leonard then sexually assaulted the victim before locking her in a closet.
