The 3rd annual Constitution Day Festival of Georgia is set to celebrate the 225th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 16 at Glover Park in the Marietta Square from 12:30 to 6 p.m. The event features live music, a Walk Thru The Constitution Challenge, kids area, community performances, food and much more.
Local schools and community centers are working in conjunction with the festival to teach the Constitution to students during Constitution Week.
The first annual event began a civic literacy relay in 2010 that is spreading nationwide this Fall in response to Georgia General Assembly resolutions. Similar festivals are being planned around Georgia (on Saturday in Jasper and Rome) and in other states. Constitution Day Festival of Georgia is hosted by Americans for Prosperity Foundation-GA and is supported by a large coalition of groups in religion, media, business, government, education, law enforcement and the service sector.
The event is free. For more information, visit www.constitutiondayfestivalofga.com.
