Police probe death of man on forklift

AUSTELL — A man working to repair a forklift died after being pinned underneath the machine as he was working on Thursday.

According to Austell Police, 40-year-old Calvin Carter of Atlanta was working a service call on a forklift that was up on jacks at 3082 Humphries Hill Road in Austell when at some point it slipped off the jacks, pinning him.

No foul play is suspected, but police are asking anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact them at (770) 499-3945.

Caraustar’s corporate office in Austell was closed when police officials released the report.
