ATLANTA (AP) _ State game lands will soon be opening for the start of Georgia’s dove-hunting season.

A state game official, John Bowers, said Georgia’s wildlife management areas offer fields managed for dove hunting opportunities. The opening day of the season is Sept. 1, traditionally regarded as the start of the fall hunting season.

Dove season runs from Sept. 1-16, Oct. 13-21 and Nov. 22-Jan. 5. Hunters can shoot from noon until sunset on opening day and from 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset for the reminder of the season.

The bag limit is 15 doves per hunter.
