DEAR EDITOR:

Your editorial endorsing Tim Lee gave a fair reporting of what happened during the respective terms of Byrnes and Lee. We have a choice between a man who listens to the wrong people and a man who listens to no one, but our only other choice is to fail to vote. I find that unacceptable.

Despite the sheer number of voters telling Lee they find his tax and spend policies are no longer acceptable, his only answer is his past is irrelevant. I see no reason to believe he will change in a second term. I cannot vote for him.

I agree that Byrnes’ idea of The City of East Cobb is a bad one. To make any headway with it, he has to convince the rest of the head-strong commissioners that it is a good idea. That includes Bob Ott, who I think should be next chairman. If that happens, I might reconsider my opinion.

To Byrnes’ credit, he appears to do what he thinks is right. He has balanced our budget, and I believe he will do it again. He has my vote!
