Employees and customers at the Wendy’s restaurant on South Service Road in Austell were surprised to see a man standing outside holding a gun with a bandanna covering his face early Thursday morning.

The group tried to flee out the back door of the restaurant, but Cobb Police say the man forced them back inside and demanded their money. He also had one of the employees to give him money from the restaurant’s safe. The armed robbery happened just after 6 a.m.

The robber is described as a black male, 5’06 “ to 5’08” tall, 140 to155 lbs. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, black pants, black sunglasses, police said.

Cobb Police investigators can be reached at 770-499-3945

Obviously a desperate poor young man trying to put food on the table for his starving family.

He was wearing a hoodie? This is clearly a mistake! He was obviously a good guy.

This man was clearly an innocent bystander who just happened to be outside the restaurant shortly before 6am wearing a hoodie and holding a gun. He was minding his own business when he was bullied by these aggressive Wendy's employees out looking for trouble when they forced him to accept money from their pockets and then from the safe.

I just hope this man and his family can recover from having all that money forced upon him in such a violent manner.
