Mableton man dies in accident on Veterans Memorial Highway

MABLETON - A 50-year-old Mableton man died after suffering a "medical emergency" while driving down the Veterans Memorial Highway Monday evening.

According to a Cobb County Police release, Eric Alexander was driving westbound on Veterans Memorial near Hickory Trail in Mableton around 7:15 p.m. Monday when his white 2006 Land Rover left the right side of the road and came to an uncontrolled stop on the side of the road.

He was taken by ambulance to WellStar Cobb Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police could not say exactly what happened to Alexander prior to his accident.
