Swofford elected president of group

AUSTELL — E. Kenneth Swofford, president of Austell-based Swofford Construction, has been elected president of the Associated General Contractors of Georgia for 2012-13. Swofford Construction is a full-service commercial contractor with specialties in religious, educational industrial and retail facilities.

Swofford serves on the CompTrust AGC Mutual Captive Insurance Company board, the chapter’s workers’ compensation program. He supports several youth sports programs, the YWCA, Camp Glisson, The Calvin Center, the Boys and Girls Club and Make-A-Wish Foundation.

ABA Banking Journal lists Vinings Bank as a top bank

VININGS — Vinings Bank was the only Georgia bank to be listed among top performing community banks in the June issue of the ABA Banking Journal, a publication of the American Bankers Association.

Vinings Bank was listed at No. 24 among the top 25 banks and thrifts with total assets greater than $100 million. The magazine listed Vinings Bank’s assets at nearly $220 million.

Flowers to chair Lung Association's Georgia Leadership Board

MARIETTA — Michael E. Flowers of Marietta has been elected chairman of the Lung Association’s Georgia Leadership Board. Flowers is employed as the national director of federal Accounts at UCB Pharmaceuticals in Smyrna. He also serves as a staff officer in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, where he has the rank of lieutenant colonel. He and his family live in Marietta.

Two Cobb SERVPRO owners earn awards

COBB — Two Cobb franchisees of SERVPRO, a water and fire cleanup and restoration company, were honored for outstanding revenue performance during the company’s annual national convention. Felicia Jones, SERVPRO of Southwest Cobb/Cascade, earned the millionaire’s bronze award. Rachel Rogers, SERVPRO of Marietta West, earned the millionaire’s gold award.
