TSPLOST supporters rally with Atlanta mayor in Smyrna …
Boondoggle — This TSPLOST is such a boondoggle! One of the items that is for Cobb County is extending the McCollum airport runway and to get a new tower? Really?? How is that going to help our traffic problem??
Cobb voter NO — (Atlanta Mayor Kasim) Reed doesn’t want Cobb citizens to criticize Atlanta for including the Beltline. Then why is he in Cobb to tell us how to vote? Chairman Tim Lee and Kennesaw Mayor Mathews show their true colors (Democrat Blue) by standing with Reed and Barnes and agreeing with this gobbledygook speak.
Casual Observer — You may not agree with what their cause but I for one admire the honesty and the request for citizen engagement.
Strange Stuff — Politics certainly makes for strange bedfellows. Nathan Deal and Roy Barnes are on the same side of an argument. RINOs and DINOs.
SG68 — Kasim Reed was the primary reason that the project list ended up being the disaster that it is. His insistence that the Beltline, a local trolley system with no regional transportation significance, be a part of the project list caused all of the other Roundtable members to revert to putting their local pet projects on the list.
FROM TEXAS — Maybe we can make the Belt Line a NASCAR sponsored thing and make it all left turns!! I don’t think they want to waste their money either.
Am smiling — Leave it to the great Marietta Daily Journal: a picture or two or three is worth a thousand words.
Frogbreath — Let me see. We need a transit system rebuild to — recreate jobs?? — to get to jobs that do not exist?? to what??? Why did the jobs leave?? Did they leave?? No light rail?? Yet , if we build light rail, jobs will come?? —for who??
COBB CSI — Glad to see the three little pigs pushing this. Sam Olens is also pushing the regionalism he wants to be regional mayor, most of his ideas are U.N.-oriented and people are starting to see that. They are building a Surf and Lord kingdom and taking any local governance away from the people. The citizen boards will be the foxes watching the hen house, as Ron Sifen, said the other night.
Around Town column: Is new mailer proof Lee’s hopes in jeopardy? …
So sorry — Around Town, that in your desire to report on Lee’s negativity, you had to try to trash Bill Byrne, who is highly principled and was a highly effective commission chair.
Principled? — So, exactly what principle was Byrne putting forth in his statement”...“The last thing I wanted to do is live in Cobb County, let alone serve in Cobb County. “Sounds like it is: Cobb county sux and I don’t want anything to do with it.
Knowledge Is Good — Lee “Going Negative”? Lee “in jeopardy”? Sounds like Bill Byrne went negative all up in Cobb County’s face. Sounds like Bill Byrne’s the one in jeopardy. Spin it the way you want but quoting someone is not negative campaigning.
Legitimate Issue — The way Byrne trashed Cobb County is a legitimate issue. And he wants us (Cobb County) to vote for him. This shows he can’t be trusted.
Lee is Best — I will be voting for Lee, he saved our triple A rating without cutting police and firefighters. You people would end up paying more in taxes if it were not for Lee.
