WellStar adds new physicians

MARIETTA — Russell French, M.D., Ragheed Alturkmani, M.D., and Jody Hughes, M.D. FCCP, have joined WellStar Medical Group, WellStar Pulmonary Medicine.

French earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from State University of New York, College at Oswego in Oswego, N.Y. He earned a medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies Caribbean Region. He is board-certified in pulmonary medicine and internal medicine.

Alturkmani earned a medical degree from Damascus University School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria. He is board-certified in pulmonary medicine and internal medicine. He is fluent in English and Arabic.

Hughes received a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from Auburn University and his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.

WellStar Pulmonary Medicine has locations in Acworth, Austell, Douglasville, East Cobb, Marietta and Hiram.

Jonathon Herbst, M.D., has joined WellStar Pathologists Group and will be based at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Herbst earned a bachelor of science in physiology from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich., and earned a medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He is board-certified in pathology and also served as lieutenant in the United States Navy from 1999 to 2004.

Adam Meadows, M.D., has joined WellStar Medical Group, Psychiatry, on Windy Hill Road. Meadows earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mich. He earned a medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Office building purchased

CUMBERLAND/GALLERIA — Atlanta Property Group has purchased 280 Interstate North, a 124,273-square-foot, six-story office building at 280 Interstate North Circle, adjacent to the Interstate North Office Park just north of the intersection of Interstates 285 and 75. According to Databank, a real estate investment firm, $8.7 million was the purchase price. The group plans to invest $400,000 in renovations. Built in 1982, the building is 72 percent leased.

* The Little Clinic, a care clinic inside Kroger stores, is opening in August at 3240 South Cobb Drive Southeast in Smyrna.
