Is ‘after-birth abortion’ to be the next fad?

DEAR EDITOR:

Cal Thomas’ Tuesday MDJ column, “Ultrasound, Ultra-truth ... and where our indifference to human life is leading us” quotes an article by two British “medical ethicists” who state, “After birth abortion: Why should the baby live?” asserts that newborn babies are not actual persons and thus do not have a moral right to life. Also, “killing a newborn should be permissible where abortion is.”

On a two-week cruise from London, England to St. Petersburg, Russia, and back, we dined with several people from England and discussed the social and secular conditions in England and the United States. One man who looked to be between 35 and 40 years old and had made millions in real estate said that he traveled three months a year to see the world. He stated that in a few years that all of the churches in England would be closed. On the other hand, we dined several times with two widows and two married ladies who were traveling together and were appalled by the way England was becoming a more secular and socialist nation.

Our forebears left England and other European countries to form “a more perfect union” based on freedom and morality; however, our present administration is slowly, step by step, socializing our freedom and secularizing our morality. If “after-birth abortion” is the next fad that the United States continues to take from our British “mentors,“ then the decline and fall of an empire like Rome comes to mind.

Those highly "moral" founding fathers who owned slaves and fathered children by them would be utterly appalled at the government forcing a woman to undergo an unnecessary, unwanted medical procedure before obtaining a lawful abortion.

This is not far fetched! We now have a president with a funny name, who is a magic muslim with no birth certificate. Don't we now live under sharia law with senior citizens being forced to appear before "death panels". If we could only free Elvis and the space men from hanger 51, they would know what to do.

Come on Mr. Storey, you know and everyone else knows, even those on the far-out secular, socialist, atheistic left, that there are too many people with too much moral fiber to ever let after-birth abortion, a procedure that I assume is illegal in most, if not all, of the 50 states in the U.S., come into fruition, much less become a "fad", which is what the looney-bin left hates so much, that they can never have their way in turning this country into a secular Eurotrash paradise.

Because unlike England and the rest of Europe, we here in the U.S. of A. have our God-given rights affirmed by our nation's founding fathers and the God-given Right to Bear Arms to keep our nation's government relatively honest in not trampling completely over those rights.

And even if after-birth abortion is allowed in someplace like California, New York or Obummer's beloved Illinois, there's no way on God's green Earth that that procedure would ever be allowed to occur in a state as conservative as Georgia.

God Bless America!!!
