It’s party time in the city! Sherry and Bill Gentry entertained a huge crowd on Dec. 10 at their annual Christmas fete. Among the guests was editorial page editor of the Marietta Daily Journal Joe Kirby and his wife, Fran. Joe obliged guests by signing his newest book, “The Lockheed Plant” which tells the story of the Lockheed-Marietta aircraft plant (off South Cobb Drive). The book contains a compilation of approximately 200 photographs from Lockheed Martin and the MDJ. The Lockheed Plant follows Kirby’s book, “The Bell Bomber Plant.”
Among the host of other attendees were Claudia and Judge Harris Adams, Sue and Randall Bentley, Claudia Chadwick and Judge Grant Brantley, Judge Roland Castellanos, Lillian and Buddy Darden, Drs. Sandy and Mark Diehl, Linda and Dr. Bill Dowdell, Linda Flournoy, Mrs. and Judge Reuben Green, Kim and John Morgan, Pat and Dr. Ken Murphy, Dan McCall, Nancy and Judge Robert McDuff, Lisa and Attorney General Sam Olens, Lucia and Judge Greg Poole, Gerald Pouncey, Holly and Vic Reynolds, Johnny Sinclair, Nancy and Steve Steele, Sally Suhr, Alice Summerour, Cindi and Eric Yeager and Pendy and Tim Ward.
***“Yule” get a good Christmas chuckle from this one — Kennesaw resident Jeff Michel clearly had the Christmas spirit when selecting his Christmas tree. According to his sister, Angie Barnes, it took six men to carry the 20-foot tree into the house. Hopefully Michel solved the dilemma of the 18-foot ceilings! Barnes advised that next time, her brother should follow the tree-picking advice from Angie’s List: “Measure your space before you cut the tree.” Visit www.angieslist.com for more tips.
***Fashion spotlight of the week: This dapper gentleman with salt and pepper hair and glasses caught the attention of several ladies at a recent holiday gala.
Sporting a black tux with a black and gold patterned vest and black and white wing tips, he was described as intelligent and intriguing — Stephen Conner: the perfect package.
