MARIETTA — A former McDonald’s manager accused of slapping a customer inside a Marietta McDonald’s last month was booked into the Cobb County Jail Wednesday morning on misdemeanor charges of assault, simple battery and use of fighting words, after being extradited from North Carolina. Her bond was set at $3,000, and according to the Sheriff’s office, Allen made bond Wednesday afternoon.

Marietta Police say that on July 12, Tiffany Denise Allen confronted customer Jennifer Schwenker, who had brought her autistic twin boys and service dog to the restaurant at 1291 Bells Ferry Rd.

Allen, who was off-duty but inside the restaurant, became irate that the dog was in the eatery and confronted Schwenker, according to police. Schwenker explained the dog was a service animal, but Allen continued to harass Schwenker, going so far as to follow her into the restroom, police said.

During this time, Schwenker lost track of one of her children and ran outside to look for him, throwing her cup down as she ran. Believing that Schwenker had thrown the cup at her, Allen charged after her and hit her in the face, according to a warrant for Allen’s arrest.

Surveillance video inside the restaurant shows employees holding Allen back, but did not capture the alleged slap, the warrant says.

Allen's court date is set for October 5.

I sincerely hope that tiffany allen faces jail time. She is a thug. I don't think, however, that McDonald's is the one to blame. Each person is responsible for their own actions. Obviously, McDonald's had no idea their employee would act in this manner.

Dogs are doing a lot more valuable service these days, and staff at businesses available to the public don't always know the facts and the law.

The American Disabilities Act laws need to be fair to the disabled as well as the public at large. There is a "service" dog in my no-pets building and the owner makes no attempt to handle or manage it respectably in public places. I love dogs, but irresponsible dog owners ruin things for everyone

I am a former patron of this location, and I have delt with this lady in the past. Notice the word "FORMER". I have seen her in action. My money now is she will definately play the race card, and try to sue McDonalds. How convient that she say's "she thought" the lady threw a cup at her. Even in the wildest imagination, does throwing a cup warrent slapping someone in the face in fron of their kids?

Just my opinion.

Gee - right now I will settle for a McJob myself.

I've lived in this area for a while, and some people like Ms. Schwenker can be snobby, full of attitude, and outright vicious when "explaining" the situation without really explaining aything.

I'll bet the employee is really the victim in a way, because sometimes parents of the disabled can REALLY come up with the most incisive, angering, dismissing speech - I have been on the receiving end of these people.

On the other hand, the employee really IS young enough to be absolutely ignorant and managers not properly trained can be really hot-headed about seeing their authority cut to shreds when they find out that they are wrong.

I am jobless because I dared correct a manager, and now no one will call history-checking HR people back - ever. So HR people think I'm lying about the only (small) employer on my GA job history. Back in Jax (Florida), the situation was MUCH better.

My verdict? Both parties are guilty of puffy egos and the cup throwing incited an already steamed person into a snap-reaction of rage onto what APPEARED to be a nob, who was, in fact, likely defending her right to be there with the dog.

This is ridiculous! Are you guys really suggesting prison time for a slap in the face??? Come on! MDJ has wasted to much energy with this story. I definately dont think what she did was right but who goes to prison for slapping someone in the face??

@anonymous...what do you mean, "why didn't the dog owner just leave McDonalds?". Duh! Because she has every right to be there!!! It wasn't some plain old dog she brought in, it was a SERVICE DOG. Service dogs have been trained and are allowed EVERYWHERE. Perhaps you should get some education! My heart goes out to the mom and her boys for being treated in such a horrendous fashion. She's only trying to take her autistic boys to McDonalds and gets unduly harrassed and punched. What is the world coming to? Where is the respect for ALL? Obviously not at McDonalds!!!

I hope Ms. Allen is aware of her rights under the American Disabilities Act and hope she gets a good ADA lawyer to prosecute Tiffany to the fullest extent of the law and McDonalds, you should already be offering more money than the scalded coffee incident to settle out of court and immediately update your training videos to educate ALL your staff about service animals...from Seizure Alert Dogs like my wife has to those that assist the agoraphobic in leaving their homes. It is not just seeing eye dogs anymore folks read up on just what service animals(not just dogs) are doing these days.

Why didn't the dog owner just McLeave when McAsked?

Sounds like the dog owner was heavily engaged in showing the McManager who was Mcboss...and throwing things too.

Prison? This is a joke and a big waste of taxpayer funds. Think of it, they had to extradite her here, how much did that cost us. She should be fined a few hundred and some community service, whats the big deal? I guess it becomes sensational because she worked for McDonald's. Why are you even covering this while at the same time complaining about the "main stream media" This story is as mainstream as it gets.

The owners canned her the day this happened. It's a shame because they just remodeled the entire location and really cleaned it up, now they get to deal with the bad PR from this clown which will reflect on the entire chain.
