Per Hinojosa’s contract, the board is to meet with him to “establish the superintendent’s goals and objectives for the new contract year.”
Hinojosa will submit a preliminary list of goals for the board to consider. The board will revise the list of goals, and expects to ultimately adopt a list that will be referred to as “District Goals.”
“The topics will emerge using a group process about the goals the board wants me to accomplish,” Hinojosa said.
The board will then meet with Hinojosa biannually to review the goals and revise them as needed. He will be evaluated on these goals.
“I did this once in Dallas early on in my tenure and then we updated or modified the goals annually as appropriate,” Hinojosa added.
The executive cabinet members will also attend on Saturday. Representative(s) of the Georgia School Boards Association will also be there as the board and superintendent try to address the new state board training requirements and possibly address issues identified by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
Saturday’s meeting, which will be televised on Channel 24, is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon and will take place in the board room at 514 Glover St., in Marietta.
Jay Dillon, the district’s spokesman, said, “This is something that this board was very eager to do with the new superintendent. The Saturday meeting will be that time to set the parameters, goals and expectations for the year. Previous boards have laid out (similar objectives) but not in this public, open fashion.”

"And so they were...the wild man. All in their twenties, minus women, f*****g cows, dreaming of rape, thrashing on pallets, rubbing their thighs and waiting for the new girl...Sethe and Paul D climbed the white stairs. Overwhelmed as much by the down-right luck of finding her house and her in it as by the certainty of giving her his sex, Paul D dropped twenty-five years from his recent memory. A stair step before him was Baby Suggs' replacement, the new girl they dreamed of at night and f*****d cows for at dawn while waiting for her to choose...[and]...had made it necessary for him to beat it to pieces."
