The recent Lassiter graduate and Texas A&M signee set meet records in winning the 200-meter butterfly and the 50 freestyle. She narrowly missed a meet record in the 100 backstroke in the girls 15-and-over age group.
Bosma, swimming for the Cobb Stingrays, won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2 minutes, 21.79 seconds, beating the old meet record of 2:21.87 set by Courtney Peters in 2009.
She then proceeded to win the 50 free with a time of 27.04 seconds, narrowly breaking the old mark of 27.05 set by Stephanie Napier in 2005. Bosma edged former Lassiter teammate and North Carolina signee Kim Carducci (27.36).
Bosma later completed her trifecta by winning the 100 backstroke in 1:05.84, falling just short of surpassing the meet record of 1:05.23 set by Kelsey Smith in 2003.
Rebecca Postoll of the Stingrays, a rising Kennesaw Mountain freshman, and Jacob Rees of the Gwinnett Aquatic Club were the other multiple-event winners. Postell won the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke in the girls 13-14 age group, while Rees took the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke in the boys 11-12 category.
Postoll won the 50 free with a new meet-record time of 27.74, breaking the old mark of 27.85 set by Kylie Stewart in 2009, and was the winner of the 100 backstroke (1:07.92).
Rees won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:15.10 and the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:09.92.
Lassiter’s Jimmy Yoder, competing for the Stingrays, also came away with a new meet record as he won the 200 butterfly in the boys 15-over age group. He won the 200 fly with a time of 2:05.40, breaking the record of 2:06.81 set by Walker graduate Drew Onken in 2009.
Lauren Case of Chattahoochee Gold was the only other record-setter as she won the 200 butterfly in the girls 13-14 category with a time of 2:21.58, breaking the meet record of 2:22.19 set by Courtney Ciardiello in 2008.
Lassiter swimmers Shannon O’Malley and Zach Bunner were also victorious, with O’Malley (Stingrays) winning the girls 15-and-over 200 breaststroke in 2:41.34 and Bunner (Chattahoochee Gold) winning the boys 15-and-over 100 backstroke in 59.24.
