Eight winners of the local competition advanced to the second round. Three Walker School sixth-graders advanced to the third round including Riordan, Nick LaDue and Colby Turner. Riordan competes in the international round, with one other student from the United States, against projects from around the world.
Tina Strauss, coordinator of Walker's annual sixth and seventh grade science fairs, commended Timmy, Nick and Colby on their fine performances, saying, "We are proud of the young gentlemen who represented Walker and are happy with the recognition the school is receiving for the excellent quality of science education."
Travelers included Sondra France, Mary Ann Galvin, Lisa Greeby, Jean Gysin, Katie King, Kathy Lowery, Melissa Paulette, Judy Osborn, and Nancy Ziants.
