The event is free and open to the public. About 40 booths will be featured with information on Vinings area businesses, restaurants and upcoming events. USO taps Lockheed director
Lockheed Martin's government relations director Brian Johnstone has been appointed vice chairman of the USO Council of Georgia, Inc. He succeeds Ret. Maj. Gen. Gordon Duquemin, U.S. Army, who served eight years. Johnstone will oversee policies and operations for all USO operations in Georgia and has fundraising and volunteer recruitment responsibilities, in addition to serving as an ambassador and spokesperson for the organization. Johnstone has been government relations director at Lockheed Martin's Marietta site for 20 years. He is a retired colonel in the Army Reserve. During his tenure in the Army, he served active duty tours in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. He has been involved with USO for 20 years and most recently served on the organization's board of directors.
"We are honored that one of our employees has been selected to a leadership position within USO, an organization with an uplifting and humbling mission," said Shan Cooper, vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics' Marietta site.
Penney's unveils new brand
The JC Penney store at Town Center Mall in Kennesaw introduced MNG by Mango this month, which will expand to an additional 215 JC Penney stores across the country. MNG by Mango offers women's apparel, handbags, accessories and footwear. MNG by Mango will look like a stand-alone store inside JC Penney. For more information, visit www.jcp.com.
