At 4:15 p.m. Sunday, the company will kick off the season by combining its own tour with Marietta's WellStar Kennestone Hospital's annual "Lite the Night" tree-lighting event. Guests will board the decorated trolley where they'll be treated to holiday carols and sing-alongs on their way to participate in the hospital's tree lighting ceremony.
Following will be a tour of lights around Marietta, including Life University's "Lights of Life" event. The cost is $25 per person plus tax.
At 8 p.m. Dec. 10, guests will go on a haunted trolley tour of Marietta during the trolley company's "Eat, Drink and be Scary" event. The event will also take place on New Year's Eve. The cost is $25 per person plus tax.
The following weekend at 8 p.m. on Dec. 18, the "Santa Pub Walk" will commence an evening featuring drinks and storytelling with a holiday theme. Plans are also underway for both a New Year's Eve and a New Year's Night Pub Walk. The cost is $15 per person plus tax.
"Marietta is absolutely stunning during the holidays," stated Cassandra Buckalew, co-owner of the Historic Marietta Trolley Company.
"The tours of lights warm the soul, and the Santa Pub Walk is always a festive adventure. And we're excited to meet some of the ghosts of Marietta's Christmases past. These special tours will certainly get everyone into the holiday spirit."
Because of the fact that the trolley has a seating capacity of 30 people, all of the events have limited availability, said Collin Cash, Marietta Trolley business development manager. She said the walking events are limited to 20 people.
Reservations with payment are required and can be made by calling (770) 745-1006 or visiting the Historic Marietta Trolley at 131 Church St. in Marietta Square. Special group charters and events can also be arranged.
