Salvation Army falling short of $305K red kettle goal

One of the surest signs of Christmas is the ringing of the Salvation Army bells and the little red kettle hanging outside a grocery store or mall. This year, however, the red kettle season is shorter than most because of the late Thanksgiving date, leaving the Salvation Army with five fewer days to meet its holiday goal of $305,000. Captain Chris Powell of the Marietta Salvation Army said its holiday goal is usually the same each year. ...
