John Richard Ballentine, Jr left us to be with his Father in heaven, Saturday October 19 at the age of 70 after a 20 year struggle with MS. He was preceded in death by his wife Alicia Young Ballentine, and his father John R. Ballentine, Sr. He is survived by his mother Ruby B. Ballentine of Marietta, daughter Leah Fancher and husband Rusty, 3 beautiful grandchildren Ashley, Alex, and Abby all of Woodstock, brother Doug Ballentine of North Carolina, nephew Kelley and niece Tori. Mr. Ballentine was a graduate of Emory Riddle Aeronautical University and a veteran of the US Air Force. His strength and faith were an inspiration to all who knew him and he was dearly loved. We are so grateful to the staff of Marietta Specialty Care for their loving service to him during his final years.A private family graveside service is on Wednesday, October 23 at Pineridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Powers Ferry United Methodist Church in Marietta. His parting words to the world would have been, “Fear-not, live in the moment and share you love freely with everyone you meet.”
