The Marietta Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association presented their February meeting at the Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Conference Center on Powder Springs St. They honored one of their own, Brenda Phillips, as “Member of the Year.” She was presented with an engraved desk clock. Brenda has served as president, vice president, secretary and treasurer, as well as serving on various committees in past years.

Guest speaker for this event was Lynn Waldrop of “Sound, Color & Light for Life” located in Acworth, Georgia. Waldrop spoke on the Healing Center and did a personal demonstration during her presentation. A donation was made in her honor to ABWA’s Scholarship Fund.

St. Andrew United Methodist Church of Marietta, 3455 Canton Road (near the intersection of New Chastain and Blackwell roads), invites area youngsters to bring their parents and begin celebrating Easter by having Breakfast With the Bunny and taking part in the annual Easter Egg Scramble Saturday, April 7.

Congregation members will serve breakfast in St. Andrew UMC’s Keheley Center beginning at 9 a.m. In addition to a tasty pancake breakfast, youngsters will have an opportunity to visit and take photos with the Easter Bunny as it makes its annual appearance at the event. The cost for breakfast is $4.50 for adults and $2 for children. Children under 2 can eat free.

The breakfast is hosted by both of St. Andrew UMC’s Youth Music groups to raise money for St. Andrew missions to Tybee Island near Savannah; Montgomery, Ala.; Jackson, Miss.; and mountains of Appalachia.

Reservations required. Call Lisa Springer at (770) 926-3488.

Immediately following the breakfast, St. Andrew will also host its annual Easter Egg Scramble. Children can gather on the church’s east lawn to collect their share of thousands of eggs filled with candy and prizes. Scramble starts at 10 a.m., when St. Andrew UMC’s Director of Children’s Ministries Marcie Millholland signals for participants to start filling their baskets.
