Authorities say Kilgore, 21, was shot in the head by Lindsey after the two were involved in a road-rage incident along Shiloh Road early in the morning. Kilgore died hours later at WellStar Kenne-stone Hospital. Lindsey, 22, of Austell was indicted on two counts of murder, malice murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, said Kim Isaza, of the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office.
Police reported the two women were driving along Shiloh Road in north Cobb when they got into an altercation, which led to a physical confrontation outside of their vehicles in the parking lot of Shiloh Green Apartments.
Kilgore was a Paulding County High School graduate and former member of the sorority Gamma Phi Beta, which had a chapter on KSU’s campus. She worked at the old-fashioned Collett County Store in Powder Springs.
Friends and family said she was outgoing and friendly, and they were devastated by their loss.
The next hearing for Lindsey has not yet been scheduled, but her case is assigned to Cobb Superior Court Judge Reuben Green.
She has been held without bond in a Cobb County jail since Oct. 12, Isaza said.
Lindsey had been previously arrested, and appeared in court last January and February for simple battery charges, according to Cobb Superior Court records.
Her case is being prosecuted by Assistant D.A. Joyette Holmes and Deputy Chief ADA Michael Scott Carlson.
