Woman charged with family violence

Laura Thompson of Austell is accused of physically abusing a family member and throwing several objects at her.

Thompson reportedly scratched the victim’s face before punching her face, resulting in blurred vision and a headache. Thompson then threw an 8-pound box fan with metal blades at the victim’s face, according to the arrest warrant. The victim was taken toa local hospital where she was treated for abrasions and a severe headache.

Thompson was arrested by the Cobb County Police Department on June 29 and jailed on a $30,000 bond. She was charged with family violence and aggravated assault.
