The state Attorney General’s office said Robinson stole more than $430,000 by fraudulently billing for services at her Speech Therepeze business, which operates in DeKalb and Cobb Counties under the name Progressive Therapy.
The thefts occurred over two years, between Jan. 4, 2010, and Jan. 23, 2012, prosecutors said. She was enrolled as a provider of children’s services in the state’s Medicaid program and is accused of employing unlicensed therapists to treat patients for services not covered by Medicaid.
The state also alleges Robinson billed for services on days when the patients were not treated. The violations in the indictment are alleged to have occured at the Cobb office.
She received payments totaling $438,622 she was not entitled to, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
No arraignment date has been set, and Robinson does not have a lawyer, said Lauren Kane, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Sam Olens.
Telephone numbers listed for the business have been disconnected.
If convicted, Robinson could face one to 10 years in prison or a $10,000 fine. She would be eligible for first-offender status, Kane said.
