We can’t win by killing civilians

Respect the office of the president of the United States? My first time to vote for a president was in 1952 while serving as a Marine in Korea. Ike promised to end the war there if he was elected. He was and he did what he promised. I have voted in every presidential election since and I’m now 79. I was 18 the first time.

If you tell someone you are going to do something, you don’t wait till he sends you an invitation. I feel certain that the president of Syria has placed hundreds of adults and children at every military target in the country. We can’t win by killing civilians. Our president is giving this mass killer plenty of time. He wants someone to blame and that is Congress. Why can’t he call Congress back in session? We are paying them. Before the next election the people of this great nation need to pray a lot and think wisely who we put in this office.

My background is like yours, except I was in the Navy when I was in the Korea.

at this point, am not sure that Assad is responsible. I also am at a point in my life when I question whether our government is telling us the truth. Certainly, the key players, today, are men and women in whom I have no trust.

And yes, Eisenhower was a man of his word. Who is today? Who do I trust? ......almost no one!

Socialism, interventions in foreign lands, boots on the ground, young people coming home after suffering horrible wounds.

We had better be absolutely right and JUSTIFIED before we commit our fellow citizens in the military into harm's way.

Our allies are showing more sense than we are and that is rare!
