KENNESAW — Authorities say a woman was attacked in Kennesaw.

According to a warrant released by the Magistrate Court of Cobb County, John Ethan Janney was charged Sept. 1 with a felony count of aggravated assault after he used a rake to strike the woman while she was in bed, “causing abrasions to (her) entire upper back and leaving a visible hand print.”

Janney was arrested in April 2011 on charges of forgery and in August 2011 theft charges and violating parol, according to records by the Cobb County Superior Court.

Janney has not been released pending a bond hearing.
