Juan Florez of Marietta remains in the Cobb County jail without a bond after being arrested Sept. 15 on charges of aggravated assault with the intent to rape and first-degree burglary.

According to the warrant, Florez knocked on a woman’s door at a home in the 400 block of Mark Avenue in Marietta on Sept. 15 at about 7 p.m. then ran and laid down in the road.

“The victim went to check on (Florez) and he grabbed her and took her off the driveway to an area of bushes,” the warrant states.

He allegedly tried to unbutton the woman’s pants before she was able to run away.

“(Florez) did go to a carport door and break open the glass in an attempt to gain entry into the house and continue the sexual assault,” the warrant continues.

He was not granted a bond because he reportedly is a “threat to the victim/community,” according to jail records.
