Registered voters who have moved and have not notified Cobb Elections need to do so no later than Oct. 9 to vote at their proper precinct. Voters who have moved should not assume that they are still registered.
A voter cannot be removed from the rolls until he has been notified, but if a voter moved, the notification may have been sent to an old address, Eveler said.
Registration applications are available at www.CobbElections.org, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling (770) 528-2581.
Eveler also reminds voters to check their registration and polling location before going to the polls on Election Day. The easiest way to check is to go online to the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page at mvp.sos.state.ga.us and view a sample ballot personalized for your voting districts.
Eveler said while she is not making any turnout predictions, based on her experience in 2008 she doesn’t expect long waits at the polls.
“With 153 voting locations open for 12 hours on election day, the demand should be well-dispersed,” she said. “However, we know some people like to vote early, so those who prefer not to vote at their polling location on Election Day may vote in advance.”
