Antoine Derrall Leach of Austell was arrested last Friday on charges of aggravated assault, three counts of cruelty to children in the third degree and simple battery.

He remains in the Cobb County jail without a bond and on an additional warrant related to a previous arrest where he was charged with unlawful conduct, simple battery, aggravated assault and cruelty to children.

According to the Aug. 16 arrest warrant, Leach is accused of hitting a woman with a large tan purse that had metal studs and buckles on it, causing a bloody swollen scrape on her forehead above her left eye and another bloody cut on her right elbow.

This attack reportedly happened in front of three young children inside and outside of a home on Wesley Drive in Austell.

In a separate incident, Dechino Kincaid Duke of Kennesaw was also arrested Aug. 15 and charged with cruelty to children in the first degree.

According to the warrant, Duke is accused of spanking a 3-year-old boy with a belt at his home on George Busbee Parkway in Kennesaw on Aug. 5.

“(Duke) did strike the juvenile about the buttocks and thigh with a belt, leaving significant bruising,” the warrant states. “The bruising was still visible for several days thereafter.”

He was released from the Cobb jail two days later on a $7,000 bond.
