Marietta City Schools announced its 2014 Teacher of the Year during a special ceremony Tuesday night.
Stormi Johnson, a third-grade math and science teacher at Marietta Center for Advanced Academics, was selected to receive the honor.
She was also recently named as one of only 200 third- through fifth-grade teachers in the nation to be selected by the National Council of Teachers in Mathematics and the National Science Teachers Association to attend the 2013 Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, N.J.
“Stormi Johnson is an excellent educator and she is deserving of this unique and challenging summer learning experience,” Marietta Superintendent Emily Lembeck said previously about Johnson and the opportunity.
Johnson is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio and Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
