60 years has strengthened the ties between Evelyn and Jim Feltman. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday.

The Feltmans met each other in their hometown of Jacksonville, Fla. The couple began dating after Jim graduated from Andrew Jackson High School where they both attended.

When asked if it was love at first sight, Jim answered unequivocally, “Why, sure.” Then added, chuckling, “It was for me. I don’t know about her.”

Though the Feltmans are different people in temperament, dedication and five children are the secret to their long marriage.

The Feltmans married a in Lutheran church in 1952. Jim, who was brought up Baptist, joined the Lutheran church when the children came along.

“I thought you needed one church in a family,” Jim said.

The family moved to Columbia, S.C., from Jacksonville and then to Atlanta with a job transfer. The couple has lived in Marietta since 1980. Their children are Gary, Ron, Jamie, Tim and Barbara.


On Sept. 6, Lyric Resmondo entertained friends who were born to shop by hosting a Stella and Dot trunk show at her Marietta home. Stella and Dot offers boutique-style jewelry and accessories available exclusively through in-home Trunk Shows by Independent Stylists and online. Diane Heller attended as a representative from the company.

Shoppers included Julie Bozeman, Linda Daniell, Andrea Dresdner, Nicole Garten, Marion Hegedus, Ann Hadjikyriokou, Elizabeth Kunetz, Trish Nicholas and Karen Thornburgh.
